English promotion Cage Warriors Fighting Championship has scratched a lightweight title bout between American champion Matt Veach and Swedish challenger Reza Madadi from its June 16 event in Jordan.

Veach had been set to defend his title in the headliner of CWFC “Fight Night 1” at Le Grand Hotel in Amman, Jordan, before an undisclosed injury forced him from the fight, according to CWFC officials. Replacing the Veach-Madadi matchup in the headlining slot will be a heavyweight attraction between Andreas Kraniotakes and Jay Mortimore.

The June 16 card marks the British promotion’s first trip to Jordan. The event will be broadcast on Premier Sports TV in the United Kingdom and streamed for free on the CWFC website. The online stream will be geo-blocked in the United States, where the show will air on the fledgling Fight Now TV channel.

The event will also feature a heavyweight showdown between Dave Keeley and Joel Wyatt. Additionally, Dan Hope and Patrick Vickers will lock horns with Jean N'Doye and Leon Del gaudio in a pair of lightweight conflicts. Rounding out the announced draw will be two middleweight confrontations, as Jake Hecht faces Michele Verginelli while Victor Cheng toes the line against John Michael Sheil.

This item was updated at 3:30 p.m. ET to add information regarding the event’s new headliner.
