World Series of Fighting welterweight Jake Shields went before the Nevada Athletic Commission on Monday, Sept. 14, to answer for his actions in an altercation with Rousimar Palhares at WSOF 22 on Aug. 1.
Shields accused Palhares of raking his eyes several times during the fight and then punched Palhares after the fight’s conclusion, when Palhares was slow to let go of the finishing submission hold.
The commission heard Shields’ defense, but still issued him sanctions for his actions.
