Chad Griggs will have to wait a little longer to make his light heavyweight debut.

Griggs recently suffered an undisclosed injury and will be unable to compete as expected against Phil Davis at UFC on Fox 4. Stepping up to face “Mr. Wonderful” will be undefeated Octagon newcomer Wagner Prado. Sherdog.com confirmed the news with Prado’s management Wednesday after an initial report from MMAWeekly.com.

UFC on Fox 4 takes place Aug. 4 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show marks the promotion’s third event on Fox’s flagship network in 2012 and will be headlined by a middleweight clash between former World Extreme Cagefighting titlist Brian Stann and ex-Bellator champion Hector Lombard.

Prado has decimated his competition up to this point, finishing all but one of his eight career victims by knockout. “Caldeirao” most recently wrapped a two-fight stint in Brazil’s Max Fight promotion, where he earned a pair of first-round knockouts. The light heavyweight’s last in-cage appearance lasted only moments, as the Brazilian punched out Aldo Sultao in just 20 seconds on May 13.

Davis suffered the first defeat of his career on Jan. 28, when the former NCAA Division I wrestling champion was outpointed by ex-UFC belt holder Rashad Evans at UFC on Fox 2. Prior to that defeat, Mr. Wonderful had compiled five Octagon victories in just over one year with the promotion.
