In a strategic affair that may have just earned him a title shot, Lyoto Machida earned a unanimous-decision victory over fellow middleweight Gegard Mousasi.

The bout headlined Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 36 event, where Machida (21-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) had his hands full with one of MMA’s most durable fighters in Mousasi (34-4-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

The five-round fight aired on FOX Sports 1 from Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
