Maia will square off against Mike Pyle in a welterweight contest at UFC Fight Night 49 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla. on Aug. 23, according to UFC officials Tuesday night.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist has won three of his past five fights, including a unanimous decision win over Alexander Yakovlev at TUF: Brazil 3 on May 31.
Pyle has won four of his past five fights, including a third-round TKO of T.J. Waldburger at UFC 170 on Feb. 22.

Fight fans can rejoice because Nick Diaz has decided to return from his brief retirement. UFC President Dana White used his official Twitter account to reveal the return of the popular fighter. Diaz has signed a new deal that will allow him to appear in the Octagon at least three more times. Well, Jeremy Stephens didn't beat Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 44, but he sure kept things interesting until the very end. The hard-swinging featherweight couldn't quite snag Swanson but still managed to wound him a couple times.
Still, while Stephens was a mid-tier lightweight for most of his career, he remains one of the best fighters at 145 pounds. That offers him plenty of options and plenty of opportunities for high-profile, exciting fights.

At UFC Fight Night 43, Jared Rosholt faced off against Soa Palelei in a heavyweight fight in the co-main event. After three rounds, Rosholt was declared the winner by unanimous decision—30-27 on all scorecards.
Rosholt has now won seven in a row, including three in a row in the UFC. His overall record for his career is 11-1, with the lone loss coming from Derrick Lewis, who was successful in his recent UFC debut.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 43, former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nate Marquardt squared off against James Te-Huna in the latter's home country of New Zealand.
In the first round, Marquardt had the back of Te-Huna, and from there he rolled forward and sunk in an armbar, forcing Te-Huna to submit.
Te-Huna has now lost three in a row, all in the first round. It's unlikely that he'll be cut, considering he is one of only a few UFC fighters from Australia or New Zealand, but he is go more
