After several eye-poke accidents Dana White now reveals the UFC have started working on a new glove.

"We actually have started to work on a new glove that actually curves your hand. Like the glove is curved like a 'U,' so you can still open your hand, but your fingers don't point straight out."

Not long ago the UFC president said there was no way to produce a glove that would prohibit eye-pokes and still be able to use with MMA and grappling, but that the only way to avoid the accidents was if the fighters kept their hands closed.

"Guys need to keep their damn hands closed," he said. "You can't reach out toward the face with the hands open in a fight. You can't do it."

A UFC official told mmajunkie the project is still in ”early stages” and that he couldn’t provide further information on the new glove.
