UFC winner Oluwale Bamgbose's goal? Bring traditional 'fancy stuff' to MMA

Oluwale Bamgbose’s first UFC win was more ferocious than fancy, but “The Holy War Angel” said his creativity is going to bring a new dynamic to MMA.

In a FOX Sports 1-televised bout at Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 83 event, Bamgbose (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) flattened fellow middleweight Daniel Sarafian (9-5 MMA, 2-3 UFC) in just 60 seconds.

According to Bamgbose, fight fans can expect to see other dazzling performances in the future.

“I have a very vast background in several different (martial) arts,” he said after the win, which fell short in earning a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus. ” … I’m one of those types of traditional martial artists, and I like that fancy stuff, and I want to apply it to MMA because that’s what MMA is for. It’s what the UFC is for, for real pure martial artists.

“Those one-dimension fighters aren’t lasting. You better step up your game, bro.”
