Former Tachi Palace Fights champion and recent UFC competitor Ulysses Gomez is heading overseas for a clash with Cage Warriors flyweight champion Neil Seery.
Company officials told MMAjunkie.com that Gomez (9-4) will meet Seery (13-9) at Cage Warriors 62. An official announcement is expected later today.
Cage Warriors 62 takes place Dec. 7 event at Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England. The main card streams on MMAjunkie.com following Facebook prelims.
Gomez was one of the world’s top-ranked flyweights during his time with Tachi. However, he slipped once he signed with the UFC and suffered a knockout loss to John Moraga and a decision defeat to Phil Harris. The Las Vegas-based fighter, who owns seven submissions in nine career wins, could pick up a solid win on his comeback trail if he defeats Seery.
Seery, meanwhile, recently won the title with a third-round submission victory over Mikael Silander (8-1). It marked the Irishman’s fourth straight win and his sixth victory in his past seven fights. After a 4-6 start, he’s resurrected his pro career with a subsequent 9-3 record that includes seven stoppages.
