Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Lim
Round 2
Lim pops Guimaraes with a combination, but the Brazilian wards him
off with a leg kick and a straight punch. Guimaraes lands a couple
awkward left hooks, though a lot of his punches are going off Lim’s
arms and shoulders. A knee lands for Lim, whose arms are beginning
to drop to his sides midway through the fight. Lim tags his man
with a straight right and a left hook to the body. A swiping left
hand bloodies Lim’s nose, and Guimaraes hits a double-leg takedown
soon after. Lim again tries to work butterfly guard, but now
Guimaraes is able to pass to half-guard. Lim scrambles to his feet
with the aid of the fence and Guimaraes stays glued to him, first
with a double and then a single-leg. Lim escapes and eats a pair of
overhand rights from Guimaraes, then a stiff jab. Guimaraes goes to
shoot again and Lim times it perfectly this time, catching the
Brazilian with a knee to the face. Guimaraes falls to his back and
Lim gets in two extra punches before referee Thomas Fan can
intervene. It’s a knockout win for Hyun Gyu Lim at 4:00 of the

Kang keeps after it and gets Caceres to the floor. Caceres swings
his hips up for an armbar, can’t get it. Kang stands to drop a
hammerfist and comes back down, almost taking north-south position

come in to clinch and gets punched away. Kang grabs hold of a leg
now and goes for a takedown, but instead gets punched by Caceres
and hits the deck. As Kang tries to drive forward, Caceres snares
him in a headlock, then quickly lets go in favor of top position.
Kang tries to use an underhook to stand, loses it as he’s forced to
defend another guillotine. Caceres lands a knee to the body of the
downed Kang, who pushes forward and puts Caceres on his back again
midway through the final round. Caceres keeps his guard open,

couple punches. Caceres forces Kang to back out with a triangle

a scramble. Kang defends, so Caceres drops a hard hammerfist from
top position. Kang is still trying to roll free when Caceres steps
into mount with 40 seconds left. Kang bucks him off after a couple
hard punches from the top and pops Caceres with an upkick. Caceres

Mizugaki with a right hand as they split. He comes right back for
another double-leg shot and this time gets Mizugaki to his knees at
the base of the fence. Mizugaki keeps an underhook and grabs the
fence to stay on his knees and eventually shoves Caraway off. Back
on the feet, Mizugaki cracks Caraway with a lead uppercut, a hook
to the body and a sweeping right hand. Caraway lands a left of his
own and drops Mizugaki with a short right hand. Caraway pounces on
his downed opponent and locks up a deep guillotine choke from full
mount. Mizugaki defends well, peeling off Caraway’s wrist and
extracting his head, but Caraway transitions right to back-mount

attempt and Caraway loses the back, but finishes the round in
Mizugaki’s half-guard.

he dodges Mizugaki counters as well. It’s give-and-take between the
135-pounders until Mizugaki drops Caraway with another hard left
hand. Mizugaki goes to the clinch, lands a knee to the body and a
follow-up left. Both men look tired but it’s Caraway who looks
worse for wear, on the retreat from the attacking Japanese fighter
who keeps landing his favored left hook. Mizugaki ducks a punch and
stuffs a takedown, but eats an uppercut up the center as Caraway
breaks off. Mizugaki goes to the body with his left hand and
Caraway puts him on the fence with a single-leg. Caraway is able to
drag Mizugaki down this time with about 90 seconds left in the

the fence by a Caraway bodylock. Mizugaki lands a knee up the

on the fence, but can’t hold him there long. Tavares is landing his
right hand to Fukuda’s head and body now, and he gives the Japanese
fighter a hard low kick to outside of the lead leg. Fukuda’s face
is marked up from the hooks and jabs of Tavares, who’s sporting a
small cut of his own underneath his left eye. Tavares scores with
an uppercut as Fukuda tries to clinch and the middleweights seem to
clash heads. Tavares catches Fukuda coming in with a knee to the
body and a right hand. Fukuda keeps pressing forward, managing to
land a few body kicks, but he just doesn’t have an answer for
Tavares’ jab and he’s not pulling the trigger on his left hand.
Fukuda clips Tavares with a lunging left and some outside leg kicks
before the horn.

Fukuda, who comes back with a good left hand. Tavares keeps popping
Fukuda with his jab and shoves the local favorite away when Fukuda
comes in to clinch. Tavares ducks a left hand and backs Fukuda away
with another right. Fukuda lands a body kick and a left hand after
eating a Tavares combo. Now it’s Fukuda slipping to the mat off a
body kick, but he pops right back up to land another. Tavares is

hands in the face of Fukuda, who’s still trying to come forward
despite 13 minutes of running into Tavares’ jab. Fukuda lands a jab

clockwise and shooting in on Bahadurzada, who sprawls on one shot
but succumbs to a second after catching Kim with a right hand. Kim
flattens his man out from side control, leaning left to right and
looking to hop into full mount. He’s got Bahadurzada’s left arm
tied up and Kim drops a quick series of punches before trying
unsuccessfully to take mount. Bahadurzada drives on a leg and gets
off his back, but stalls out on his knees and absorbs some punches
to the body. Kim shoves Bahadurzada onto his back and steps into
mount, where Bahadurzada again clings on and Kim goes back to
throwing a steady stream of punches. Kim grabs hold of
Bahadurzada’s head with his right hand and postures up to unload
with some sharp left elbows. Bahadurzada keeps bucking under Kim’s
oppressive ground-and-pound but can’t escape before the end of the
round.

on his first try, putting Bahadurzada on his back in the center of
the cage less than 30 seconds into the round. Kim moves from a
crucifix position into full mount and begins framing up an
arm-triangle choke with his right arm. Bahadurzada clasps his hands
together above him to defend as Kim tries to step off the other
side to finish the choke. Kim’s right foot is trapped, so he uses
his left leg to drive knees into Bahadurzada’s body. Kim still
can’t get the foot loose, but nonetheless hangs on to the choke,
keeping Bahadurzada in deep trouble. Kim goes back to full mount
and Bahadurzada gets his elbow in to loosen the arm triangle. Kim
drops punches to the body and gives up the choke in favor of a high
posture and heavy elbows. Double-handed chops land for Kim, more

legs tied up. Now Yahya flattens him out and frames up an
arm-triangle choke from full mount. The Brazilian squeezes the
choke from the top, then hops off to Hirota’s right side to try and
finish. Yahya spends a good half-minute squeezing the choke but
he’s being blocked on his left side by the fence. Hirota calmly
waits it out and eventually Yahya lets go, retaking full mount with
2:00 remaining. Yahya puts Hirota on his side and gets off a couple
good right hands. Yahya spends the last minute in half-guard,

Yahya’s face into the canvas before standing back up. Again, Hirota
turns away a shot and this time almost takes Yahya’s back. Yahya
shoots another single-leg from a mile out; Hirota avoids it at
first, then goes to the ground and tries to take the Brazilian’s
back. Hirota tries to mount as Yahya looks to go underneath for a
submission, but now Hirota has a loose triangle-armbar combo. The
triangle doesn’t catch but Hirota keeps the armbar and works to
finish. Yahya slips out and now he takes Hirota’s back in a
scramble. He’s got one hook in, loses it as Hirota uses the cage to

Gomi with a jab. Gomi waves him forward and pops Sanchez with a
straight right from orthodox stance. Sanchez misses with a front
