Round 1
Soto has a high kick blocked and gets stuffed on a single-leg, then circles around the outside. He lands a body kick but Rivera counters with a big right hand that buckles Soto’s legs. More thunderous rights from Rivera have Soto wobbling around the perimeter while Rivera keeps calm and walks him down. Soto regains his wits, but Rivera clubs him again and Soto has to shoot. He finishes the single-leg this time and Rivera rolls through to get back to his feet. Soto flings wild punches to keep Rivera at bay. Rivera socks him with a lead uppercut, misses with a front kick. Soto is slipping on his punches, most of which are missing by a wide margin. He connects with a kick to the body; Rivera keeps moving forward and lands a left hook before absorbing another kick. Round 2
Soto goes back to circling, flicking out front kicks and long punches. He lands one to the body, takes a left hook from Rivera and has a single-leg snuffed out. Another body kick from Soto and Rivera answers with a leg kick that strays to the groin. Soto says he’s alright and they keep fighting. A moment later, another kick hits Soto in the cup and this time ref Rick McCoy calls a break. It’s only a few seconds before they’re going again and exchanging snappy leg kicks. Rivera lands a right hand over the top, shuts down another shot and hits the right again. Rivera puts a right hand on Soto’s temple and then kicks him in the face while he’s leaning. Now it’s Soto who catches a low blow, but again the break lasts only seconds. They get back to work with just under two minutes left in the round. Soto is still on his bike, moving backward while Rivera looks for the homerun shot. Rivera lands another right hand and follows up with a right head kick. Soto goes down but hops back up. Rivera won’t let up, walking toward Soto and throwing hard shots to the horn.

Round 3
Soto hits a takedown early in the final round but Rivera doesn’t stay down long. “Cisco” is quickly back on his feet, stalking Soto with right hands and teep kicks to the jaw. Soto is in deep trouble, struggling to stay vertical along the fence after a vicious right from Rivera. He does stay up, and Soto is actually looking the fresher of the two bantamweights as the fight enters its final two minutes. Rivera is still the one coming forward, though, and throwing with more volume, mixing in leg kicks with his punches and teeps. Rivera is smiling as he throws punches and nearly catches Soto with a knee as he shoots a single. Soto abandons the shot and goes back to backpedaling. Soto tries to finish with a bang as he pushes off the cage with a superman punch, but time runs out and it looks like Rivera will take the nod.

After the next exchange, Eduardo indicates that Curran poked him in the right eye. Referee Rick McCoy tells Eduardo that he didn’t see it and the fight must continue. They keep going and Curran goes on the attack. Eduardo continues to motion to his injured eye, as if he wants some kind of acknowledgement from Curran, who keeps trying to jab on Eduardo’s impaired side. Ninety seconds to go and Eduardo is playing a bit of defense, moving backward as Curran flicks kicks low and kick. Curran pours on the left hooks and right straights, landing a number of solid shots in the last half-minute.

The Brazilian latches onto Shalorus’ back and whips his right arm around the neck. He doesn’t have his hooks fully in, nor a body triangle locked up, but dos Anjos has the rear-naked choke in very deep and Shalorus has no choice but to tap. Rafael dos Anjos gets the submission win just 40 seconds into the opening round. Round 1
Grant works from the outside, throwing kicks to the lead leg of Prater, who swings a left hook on the same side. They exchange jabs until Grant opts to come inside, looking for a single-leg. He settles for a clinch and presses Prater into the fence, where the lightweights trade knees inside. Grant pops Prater with a short right, Prater pushes forward with a jab and they tie up. Nothing much happens in the clinch and they split, whereupon Grant continues his forward movement. Prater has a shot denied and Grant grabs for a guillotine. Prater pops his head loose and rolls underneath for a kneebar, but Grant has it sized up. The Canadian winds up on top in Prater’s open guard with less than a minute to go. Prater pops back up and grabs for a guillotine that doesn’t come, and the fighters break. Ninety seconds left in the round now and Prater gets an underhook to put Grant on the fence. Grant turns the tables with a guillotine, lets it go and trips Prater down shortly after. Grant has side control on Prater’s left side and now he steps into position for a reverse triangle choke. He can’t cinch up his legs, so Grant stays on top, punching away at the trapped head of Prater, who reverses just as the round runs out.

Prater loops his left arm around Grant’s neck on the way down. It’s not a tight guillotine but it’s giving Grant a little trouble as he works to pass. Prater lets it go and Grant moves to side control. Prater tries to get up but stalls out on his knees, and Grant instantly tries to take his back. The ground-savvy Prater won’t let him have it and puts his back on the canvas again. Grant winds up in side control, then passes to full mount with 80 seconds left. Prater tries to bump and roll, and this time Grant does secure the back. Prater twists free and Grant keeps him on his knees with a front headlock. Round 1
McKenzie rushes across the cage to meet LeVesseur, who easily hurls the Alaskan to the ground with a double-leg. LeVesseur stands and catches an upkick to the groin, and ref Keith Peterson calls for a break after just a few seconds. LeVesseur recovers and McKenzie is looking to kick high and stick jabs. LeVesseur is hunting for big punches, one of which sends McKenzie tumbling in an attempt to pull guard. LeVesseur lets him back up, gets him on the fence and slugs him again, and this time McKenzie seems to be in danger. LeVesseur grabs a north-south choke, tries to transition to a rear-naked choke and loses the neck. McKenzie puts LeVesseur in his open guard, then sits up and slaps on his trademark guillotine choke. The choke is deep and referee Keith Peterson is hovering nearby to make sure LeVesseur is still conscious. He is, but moments later when McKenzie adjusts and cranks the choke, LeVesseur is forced to submit. The end comes officially at 3:05 of the first round. Round 1
Tavares throws hard right body kicks and sticks punches in the face of the southpaw Yang, who catches a kick after a minute and slugs back with a straight left. Yang goes to the inside thigh with a kick now. Tavares keeps his kicks coming, gets another one caught and eats another left. Tavares doesn’t slow, though, and socks Yang back with a stiff jab. Tavares paws at his eye after a punch and ref Dan Miragliotta warns Yang to watch his fingers. Tavares ducks a power punch from Yang but misses with his own follow-up punches as well. Tavares spins around on a kick and Yang tries to blitz him, but Tavares sticks him with a finger in the eye. They stop and restart, but Yang still can’t see and asks for a towel to wipe his eye. Miragliotta obliges and the fight resumes. Seconds after they restart, Yang pokes Tavares in the eye again, this time while pushing off after a head kick, and the ref issues Yang a stern warning. Round 3
Both middleweights come out with guns blazing and Tavares thinks better of the exchange, instead switching levels and driving Yang to the ground after about 15 seconds. Yang tries to scramble up and take the back of Tavares, who turns and grabs onto another single-leg. He completes it, Yang gets back up again and Tavares once more slams him to the canvas at the base of the cage. Yang is looking to post and stand but Tavares has his legs wrapped up, opting to control the position instead of go for offense. It’s not enough for ref Miragliotta, who stands them up with 3:15 remaining in the bout. Tavares sticks a jab, misses with a three-punch combo and has a front kick bloc ked. Yang is staying out of range of most of Tavares’ punches, but a low kick splits the wickets and hits “The Ox” right in the cup. Yang takes a minute to recover and they resume with about two minutes left. Tavares is looking for the big shot with punches and head kicks, but Yang is doing well to avoid. Yang lands a good uppercut, gets moved back with a front kick. They clash leg kicks and Tavares comes back with a hard kick to the body. Hougland is stringing together some leg kicks but he’s being literally beaten to the punch by Jabouin’s fast hands. Jabouin backs the ground specialist off with a front kick and then turns around with another spinning kick. This one lands square on Hougland’s liver and Hougland goes fetal on the ground, holding his midsection. It looks to be over but ref Todd McGovern lets the fight continue as Jabouin rushes and tries to finish with less than half a minute to go. Hougland gives up his back and Jabouin tries to secure the position for a rear-naked choke, but Hougland slips out the backdoor. It doesn’t last long, as Jabouin reverses to top position and works to extract his left leg from Hougland’s half-guard and pass to the left side. It’s a tough pass, as Hougland’s left side is flush to the fence, and instead Hougland stuffs Jabouin back into his full guard. Hougland swings his hips up for an armbar, but it doesn’t go and Jabouin uses the opportunity to sock Hougland in the face with a few more hammerfists. It’s elbows from Jabouin on top now, and Hougland tries to muster some offense with body punches from his back as time ticks away. The ref wants them up with 40 seconds left and Jabouin hurts Hougland immediately with a knee to the body and follow-up head kick. He wraps up the head of Stephens for a quick knee, steps off and throws another low kick. Cerrone tries a takedown that doesn’t go, but a moment later he puts Stephens on the ground with a hard outside leg kick. He lets Stephens back to the feet, where Stephens starts swinging wildly and missing by a good distance. Cerrone continues bouncing out of range and wearing down the legs, as well as further swelling Stephens’ badly damaged left eye. Two minutes to go now and this looks like a lost cause for Stephens, who can’t get past Cerrone’s jab and can’t hang onto the Cowboy when he does get hold of him. Cerrone keeps the strikes coming, egging Stephens on to the final horn.

Lopez finishes the high single-leg with about 2:10 left on the clock and tries to pass Sadollah’s rangy open guard. Sadollah peppers with short punches on either side while Lopez just lays flat on his opponent’s chest. Ref Keith Peterson stands them up with a minute to go and it’s Sadollah on the attack. He jumps in with a knee to the body, but it allows Lopez to wrap him up with another single-leg attempt on the fence. Poirier isn’t doing much offensively, just holding Jung against the fence while Jung waits for an opportunity to post and stand.
