Erick Silva-UFC on FX 3Erick Silva made quick work of Jason High at UFC on Fuel TV 10 in Fortaleza, Brazil, on Saturday night, re-establishing himself as one of the top prospects in the promotion’s welterweight division.

High tried to shoot on Silva, but the Brazilian sprawled out and quickly outmaneuvered High, wrestling him to the mat, and taking his back. From there, Silva slid off to the side, securing High’s arm as he did so.

Silva stretched out the armbar, leaving High with no other option but to tap out.

Silva was one of the most highly anticipated Brazilian prospects to enter the UFC in quite some time. He is now 3-2 in the Octagon. One of those losses was a disqualification loss to Carlo Prater for hitting him in the back of the head during what at first appeared to be a TKO stoppage, while the other was a decision loss to Jon Fitch.

The quick victory over High puts Silva back on track, and makes him available for a quick return to the Octagon, as well.

TUF Brazil 1’s Daniel Sarafian was forced out of the middleweight final of the reality show due to injury and followed that disappointment with a split decision loss to CB Dollaway at UFC on FX 7 in January. He made up for both on Saturday night, submitting Eddie Mendez with an arm-triangle choke 2:20 into their fight.

TUF Brazil 1 featherweight winner Rony Jason did likewise, making quick work of TUF: The Smashes alumnus Mike Wilkinson, submitting him with an arm-triangle choke 1:24 into the first round in their opening bout on the Fuel TV broadcast.
