Ricardo Lamas vs Erik Koch at UFC on Fox 6Ricardo Lamas (12-2) continued his march towards a title shot, with his fourth consecutive win since moving to featherweight with a second round TKO stoppage at 2:32 over Erik Koch (13-1) at UFC on Fox 6 on Saturday night at the United Center in Chicago.

Koch was returning off a 16-month injury layoff, and both fighters looked to trade strikes early on before Lamas pressed the attack and had Koch in a clinch against the cage. Koch showed good takedown defense, both men fighting for dominance. After more combinations were thrown by Lamas, he was able to secure the clinch and take Koch to the mat, but he was quick to return to his feet.

Lamas opened the second round on the attack before he slipped over, but that is where Koch came undone. Koch was looking for a dominant position on the mat and was active off his back, but Lamas reigned down with elbows cutting Koch until the fight was waved off.

“I’m a nervous wreck before all of my fights, but being in Chicago in front of all my family and friends, I was at ease,” Lamas said. “If I get on top you better watch out, because I’m not letting you up until your bloody or knocked out.”
