It looks like flyweights can appeal to the masses.

According to preliminary figures released by on Sunday, UFC on Fox 6 averaged 3.77 million viewers on Saturday night, representing a slight increase from the 3.4 million who witnessed UFC on Fox 5 on Dec. 8. The event, which was headlined by a flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson, scored a 1.8 rating among adults ages 18-to-49, a 13 percent improvement from the 1.6 rating achieved by UFC on Fox 5, which featured a lightweight title showdown between Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz.

Those ratings helped Fox garner the top rating among adults 18 to 49 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, while CBS had the most total viewers during that time slot. The final ratings for UFC on Fox 6 could increase, as the five-round main event was still being contested past 10 p.m. ET.
