Flyweight talent Darren Uyenoyama has apparently been scratched from the UFC on Fox 3 bill. Promotion officials revealed Tuesday that John Dodson has instead been paired with Octagon debutant Timothy Elliott.

The reason for Uyenoyama’s removal from the card has not yet been announced by the Las Vegas-based promotion. However, Elliott (Pictured) now appears on the event’s official fight bill opposite Dodson on UFC.com.

Taking place May 5 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., UFC on Fox 3 will be headlined by a pivotal lightweight contest pitting Jim Miller against Nate Diaz. Also featured will be a welterweight scrap between contenders Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks, as well as a middleweight affair between Rousimar Palhares and Alan Belcher.

Dodson returns to 125 pounds after winning the 14th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” as a bantamweight. “The Magician” took out highly regarded prospect T.J. Dillashaw at the Dec. 3 live finale, earning a technical knockout over the Team Alpha Male representative in just 1:54. Representing Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, N.M., Dodson rides a three-fight winning streak into his sophomore UFC appearance.

Meanwhile, Elliott has won eight straight starts. Hailing from Edmond, Okla., Elliott fought thrice in 2011, finishing John McDowell and Kashif Solarin in less than three minutes combined before capping his year with a second-round knockout of former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver on Dec. 16. Most recently, Elliott put Josh Rave to sleep with a brabo choke in just 28 seconds at Resurrection Fighting Alliance 2 on March 30.
