Flyweight talent Darren
Uyenoyama has apparently been scratched from the UFC
on Fox 3 bill. Promotion officials revealed Tuesday that
Dodson has instead been paired with Octagon debutant Timothy
The reason for Uyenoyama’s removal from the card has not yet been
announced by the Las Vegas-based promotion. However, Elliott
(Pictured) now appears on the event’s official fight bill opposite
Dodson on UFC.com.
Taking place May 5 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., UFC
on Fox 3 will be headlined by a pivotal lightweight contest pitting
Miller against Nate Diaz.
Also featured will be a welterweight scrap between contenders
Koscheck and Johny
Hendricks, as well as a middleweight affair between Rousimar
Palhares and Alan
Dodson returns to 125 pounds after winning the 14th season of “The
Ultimate Fighter” as a bantamweight. “The Magician” took out highly
regarded prospect T.J.
Dillashaw at the Dec. 3 live finale, earning a technical
knockout over the Team Alpha Male representative in just 1:54.
Representing Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, N.M., Dodson rides a
three-fight winning streak into his sophomore UFC appearance.
Meanwhile, Elliott has won eight straight starts. Hailing from
Edmond, Okla., Elliott fought thrice in 2011, finishing John
McDowell and Kashif
Solarin in less than three minutes combined before capping his
year with a second-round knockout of former UFC lightweight
champion Jens Pulver on
Dec. 16. Most recently, Elliott put Josh Rave to
sleep with a brabo choke in just 28 seconds at Resurrection
Fighting Alliance 2 on March 30.
