Lucas Martins vs. Jeremy Larsen

Round 1: The two fighters take the center of the cage and UFC on FX 8 is officially underway. Marins lands a jab.  The Brazilian crowd is on his side.  Larsen catches a kick by Martins and takes him down.  He decides to let him and lands a right hand.  Martins circles.  He goes back to working his jab.  Larson works for a takedown.  Marins fends it off.  Martins lands a leg kick but Larsen answers with a counter right hand. They exchange in the center of the cage and Martins lands a combination.  Larsen lands a right hand that drops Martins.  Martins goes for a  leg.  Larsen gets free.  They slug it out along the cage.  They clinch and Martins lands knees to the body.  The pace is furious.  With two minutes remaining in the round, Larson looks to have slowed.  Larsen goes for a takedown and gets hit with a knee.  He drives forward and elevates Martins and slams him to the canvas.  Martins quickly gets back to his feet.  Martins lands his jab.  He throws a kick and slips.  Larsen follows him to the canvas.  He works in Martins’ guard.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Larsen.

Round 2: Martins delivers an inside leg kick to start the second round.  He follows it up with a combination.  Martins lands a right hand.  Larsen answers with a right hand of his own and works for a takedown.  He delivers knees to the legs of Martins.  The separate and Martins lands a right hand.  Larsen closes the distance but Martins pushes him away.  Larsen steps in with a left hand.  Martins counters and opens up a cut under Larsen’s right eye.  Larsen lands a right hand that staggers Martins.  He lands another right hand.  Martins answers with an uppercut.  Larsen steps in with a lead left hand.  Martins fires off a high kick that Larsen blocks.  Larsen lands a huge right hand that sends Martins staggering back.  Larsen lands another right hand.  Martins remains on his feet.  Larsen looks for a takedown but Martins shakes it off.  They exchange at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Larsen.

Round 3: Larsen’s corner tells him to throw right hands “all day.”  They touch gloves to start the final round.  Larsen presses forward.  He lands a right hand and Martins counters with a right hand that lands flush and push Larsen face-first on the canvas.  Martins finishes with two hammer fists.  Referee Mario Yamasaki steps in to stop the fight.

The official time of the knockout was 13 seconds into the third round.
