Veteran welterweight Brian
Ebersole will collide with submission specialist T.J.
Waldburger at UFC
on FX 4, promotion officials announced Wednesday.
The addition to the card marks the fourth 170-pound affair
green-lit for the event in the last 24 hours. Taking place at a
to-be-named venue in Atlantic City, N.J., UFC on FX 4 will be
headlined by a five-round main event between lightweights Clay Guida and
A veteran of 65 fights, Ebersole, 31, made his professional debut
in 2000 but only recently joined the UFC’s welterweight ranks. The
well-rounded but unorthodox talent has won his last 10 fights,
topping fellow veterans Chris Lytle
Hallman before closing out 2011 with a split decision victory
Patrick on Dec. 10.
Eight years the junior of his opponent, Waldburger has won six of
his last seven bouts, his only loss in that span coming to highly
regarded wrestler Johny
Hendricks. A former Shark Fights welterweight champion,
Waldburger finished last year with an award-winning submission of
Stumpf in September; he followed that performance by tapping
Hecht with slick armbar in just 55 seconds three weeks ago at
UFC on FX 2.
