The Ultimate Fighter 5 semi-finalist Joe Lauzon (22-8 MMA, 9-5 UFC) faces TUF 12 finalist Michael Johnson (12-8 MMA, 4-4 UFC) at the UFC debut at FOX Sports 1 cable network with a live event from TD Bank Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on August 17.

Johnson lost his past two fights, to Myles Jury by unanimous decision at UFC 155 on December 29, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada and to Reza Madadi on April 6 at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Sweden by submission (d'arce choke).

Lauzon too lost his last fight to Jim Miller via unanimous decision at UFC 155 on December 29, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, despite losing, the fight was nominated “Fight of the Night” and “2012 Fight of the Year”.
