Joe Lauzon vs. Mac Danzig

Round 1: They touch gloves and the main card is underway.  Lauzon takes the center of the cage.  He inches forward and takes Danzig down.  He advances to the mount position and drops a big elbow.  Danzig tries to escape and Lauzon applies an arm bar.  Danzig steps over and gets out of the submission attempt and gains top position.  Lauzon looks for another arm bar.  He transitions to a triangle.  It’s not there.  He moves to an oma plata and uses it to get back to his feet.  Danzig presses Lauzon against the cage.  Lauzon lands an elbow on the inside.  Danzig clinches and delivers two elbows.  Lauson turns him.  The work for position along the cage.  Lauzon secures a takedown.  He lands an elbow.  The round ends with Lauzon on top.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Lauzon.

Round 2: Danzig lands an outside leg kick to start the round.  Danzig lands a left hand.  He lands an outside leg kick.  They clinch and Danzig lands left hands to the body.  Danzig works some dirty boxing.  They separate.  Danzig lands a combination.  Lauzon moves forward and they clinch.  Danzig presses Lauzon against the cage.  They exchange knees to the body.  Danzig attempts a trip takedown but ends up on the bottom.  Lauzon lands an elbow that opens up a cut on Danzig.  Lauzon postures and delivers another elbow.  Lauzon moves to half guard.  He peppers Danzig’s body with short punches.  Lauzon advances to side control.  He goes for an arm bar but is unable to extend the arm before the end of the round.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Lauzon.

Round 3: They touch gloves to start the final round.  Danzig lands a combination to the body.  Lauzon steps in with a jab.  Danzig lands a right hand followed by an outside leg kick.  They collide heads.  Danzig lands a left hand to the body.  Danzig letting his hands go.  He lands a right hand to the body followed by a straight right hand.  They clinch and Lauzon secures a trip takedown.  He postures up and lands an elbow and steps over into side control.  He lands short left hands.  Lauzon gets Danzig in a crucifix and delivers elbows.  Danzig gets an arm free.  Lauzon advances to the  mount position.  He delivers elbows to the body.  Lauzon isolates an arm but Danzig gains top position with a minute remaining in the round.  Lauzon reverses him.  Lauzon moves to half guard and then to side control.  Lauzon delivers a big elbow.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Lauzon.

The judges scored the fight for Lauzon by unanimous decision.  All three scorecards read 30-27.
