UFC on FOX 12 'Prelims' fights to air on FOX -- not FOX Sports 1 -- on July 26

Thanks, baseball!

No more fumbling for the remote after the "Prelims."

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been asked to leave the FOX Sports 1 network -- albeit temporarily -- to make room for Major League Baseball (MLB) programming on July 26, 2014. That's when UFC on FOX 12: "Lawler vs. Brown" pops off from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

As for FOX Sports 2?

Already committed to soccer, so fight fans will get a rare treat with a four-hour block of mixed martial arts (MMA) programming on FOX, which begins at 6 p.m. ET with the featherweight fight between Mike de la Torre and Brian Ortega.

Have a look at the new and improved line up:

UFC on FOX 12 Main Event:

170 lbs.: Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Brown

FOX Main Card (8 p.m. ET):

205 lbs.: Anthony Johnson vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
155 lbs.: Clay Guida vs. Dennis Bermudez
155 lbs.: Josh Thomson vs. Bobby Green

FOX "Prelims" (6 p.m. ET):

155 lbs.: Daron Cruickshank vs. Jorge Masvidal
155 lbs.: Hermani Perpetuo vs. Tim Means
205 lbs.: Kyle Kingsbury vs. Patrick Cummins
145 lbs.: Mike de la Torre vs. Brian Ortega

Fight Pass "Prelims" (4 p.m. ET):

170 lbs.: Akbarh Arreola vs. Tiago dos Santos
145 lbs.: Steven Siler vs. Noad Lahat
155 lbs.: Andreas Stahl vs. Gilbert Burns
115 lbs.: Juliana Lima vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk

That's one hell of a main event.

Lawler (23-10) is fresh off a technical knockout victory over Jake Ellenberger at the UFC 173 pay-per-view (PPV) event last May in Las Vegas, Nevada (video highlights here). Stopping "The Juggernaut" got him back into the win column after a razor-thin decision loss to Johny Hendricks at UFC 171 back in March.

So much for taking time off.

Brown (19-11) is also coming off a big win his last time out, sending Erick Silva to the emergency room in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the UFC Fight Night 40 headliner on FOX Sports 1. Finishing off the Brazilian marked win number seven for "Immortal," a streak that includes six finishes.

Any chance this thing goes five rounds?

UFC on FOX 12 has more than just a fancy headliner, thanks to the addition of reborn light heavyweight Anthony Johnson, who tries to send Antonio Rogerio Nogueira back to the sidelines. In addition, Josh Thomson will jump back into the fray -- and try to keep his title hopes alive -- when he collides with Michael Johnson at the network-televised event.
