UFC on FOX 11 play-by-play and live results


ORLANDO – MMAjunkie is on scene and reporting live from today’s UFC on FOX 11 event.

The card, which features a heavyweight title eliminator between Travis Browne (15-1-1 MMA, 6-1-1 UFC) and Fabricio Werdum (17-5-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in the main event, takes place at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. The main card airs on FOX while prelims air on FOX Sports 1 and stream on UFC Fight Pass.

DERRICK LEWIS (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) VS. JACK MAY (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC)

Round 1 – May takes the center as Lewis retreats to he cage. Two hard low kicks from May to start. May misses on a wild right hand. Lewis shoots in for a takedown and pushes May across the cage until he falls. Half-guard for May. Crowd already restless. The two scramble and roll, and May is on top. Lewis gets to his feet but May wraps the waist and takes him right back to the canvas. May moves quickly into mount. Short punches from the top. Lewis turns, and May tries to take the back, but he’s too high and Lewis scrambles to take top position. Lewis unleashes a few punches before May tries to get to his feet. Lewis pushes him back down and starts punching away. May covers up, but he’s not showing much defense, and this is over.

MIRSAD BEKTIC (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) VS. CHAS SKELLY (11-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Bektic fires out a few punches that come up short. Skelly misses on a front kick. Bektic in the center, and both look lively to open. Skelly circling, but both have yet to land clean. Bektic misses on a quick combination, but he looks very fast. Skelly grabs the body, but Bektic stays o the outside. They work from the clinch, and referee Jorge Ortiz warns them to stay active. Bektic eventually pulls away, and they reset. Skelly kicks the body. He’s turning up the heat a bit. Bektic catches him on a takedown attempt and tries to move around to the back. Skelly turns, and Bektic settles in his guard. Bektic with a few short punches and elbows from the top. He postures and looks to strike. Skelly holds tight, and the round ends there. MMAjunkie gives it to Bektic, 10-9.

Round 2 – Bektic again with quick hands to open, but Skelly staying just out of range. Bektic again takes the center. Skelly not afraid to stand and trade, but Bektic with the faster strikes in the exchanges. Bektic putting together combinations. Skelly strikes his way into a clinch. He drops down for a single-leg, but Bektic stays upright and defends against the cage. Bektic turns away and looks for his own takedown. Skelly defends, and Bektic pulls away to reset. Skelly’s face reddened, but he lands a clean blow. Bektic wobbled a bit. Skelly tries to capitalize, but he lands a knee to the head with Bektic’s hand on the canvas. Clearly illegal, and Bektic wobbles. Ortiz appears to wave off the fight but eventually decides to give Bektic time to recover. Ortiz deducts a point but lets the fight carry on. Wow. Well, on the restart, Skelly lands a nice right hand. Bektic appears to be OK. Weird ending to the round. MMAjunkie scores the round 9-9 with the deduction.

Round 3 – Skelly takes the center, but Bektic pumps out a jab. Skelly pressing forward. Bektic drops down and looks for a takedown. He doesn’t get it on the first effort, but he adjusts and wraps the body, elevating Skelly and slamming him to the floor. Half-guard for Skelly. He gets his feet on the fence and pushes off, hitting a slick transition to the back. Big reversal. Halfway point of the round. Skelly looking to attack from back control. He’s too high, and Bektic pulls free, dumping Skelly to the floor. Now it’s Bektic back in control. Another big reversal. Ninety seconds left. Bektic lands a few right hands, but Skelly scrambles up to his feet. One minute left. Skelly with a nice uppercut. Bektic with another takedown. Skelly turns for the leg. Bektic spins to relieve the pressure. Crazy scramble to end the fight. MMAjunkie scores a good third round for Bektic, 10-9, awarding him the fight 29-27. Scores could show a draw with the close third round.

RAY BORG (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) VS. DUSTIN ORTIZ (13-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Ortiz out quickly and pumps a jab before moving inside and pressing Borg to the fence. Borg tries to grab the neck, but Ortiz drags him to the floor. Borg gets to a seated position, and he hits a smooth step over to reverse the position. Borg now in the dominant spot. Ortiz trying to escape, but Borg picks him up and dumps him on the canvas. Borg scrambles over to the back, but Ortiz is able to slips out the back door. Ortiz now on top. Still, Borg finds his way out and then scores another slamming takedown of his on. It’s another scramble when they hit the deck, and Ortiz gets back to the top. back and forth action. Ortiz slips to the top, and they scramble up and trade at the close. Close round, but MMAjunkie lands slightly to Ortiz, 10-9.

Round 2 – Borg with a quick kick to the body. Ortiz slips outside of a spinning kick from his opponent. Ortiz looking to punch, and he leaps into a clinch. Ortiz has the body locked, and he drives in a few knees before eventually slamming Borg on to the canvas. Ortiz into side control, and he looks to isolate the arm. Instead, Borg scrambles to guard. Ortiz looks to advance, but a slick Borg transition sees him escape, push Ortiz to the floor and work to his back. Ortiz tries to wrap the right arm and escape. He can’t, and Borg turns to the rear-naked choke. It looks briefly tight, but Ortiz slips out. Borg still on his back. Ortiz rises to his feet. Borg still firmly on his back, figure-four wrapped around the body. Ortiz eventually falls back to the floor, but Borg can’t finish the choke. Nice defensive work from Ortiz, but Borg takes the round on the MMAjunkie card, 10-9.

Round 3 – Borg with a kick to the body. Ortiz pushing forward, and he lands with his hands before firing off a high kick. Borg weathers the storm, and they push to the center and reset. Ortiz starting to really work his hands. Kicks traded, and Borg fires off another spinning kick. Good work from both fighters. Still plenty of action late in the fight. Knee inside from Ortiz as they work in the clinch. They break away and reset. They move back into the clinch and trade big knees. Borg gets a scrambling takedown. Ortiz moves up, and Borg tries to take the back but falls over the top. Still, he doesn’t stay down and gets again to his opponent’s back. He wraps the body and muscles into a takedown. Ortiz grabs the fence, but Borg still pulls him off. big takedown. Borg on the back as the round ends. MMAjunkie gives the final round to Borg, 10-9, awarding him the fight 29-28. Great fight. Could very easily go the other way.

JORDAN MEIN (28-9 MMA, 2-1 UFC) VS. HERNANI PERPETUO (17-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Mein gets to the center as Perpetuo shifts laterally. Jabs from both fighters miss, but Mein follows with a kick to the leg. Perpetuo answers with the same. Mein kicks the legs again. Mein with a nice lead left hook. Perpetuo keeps his hands high. Mein ducks down and grabs a leg, taking Perpetuo to the floor and pounding away with a few big left hands. Mein punches the body, racking up points from the top. He passes the right leg and looks to continue his advance. Perpetuo hanging tight and hits a slick roll, and they move back to the feet. Mein lands a knee on the restart. Mein’s left hamstring is already bruised from Perpetuo’s earlier kicks. Less than a minute. Mein looks super comfortable. Perpetuo still moving on the outside. He misses on a late takedown attempt, and MMAjunkie gives the round to Mein, 10-9.

Round 2 – Mein opens with a kick to the leg. Perpetuo still looking to trade, but he comes up just short. Perpetuo lands hard to the leg, but Mein is the aggressor, holding the center and looking very relaxed. Mein just misses with a big elbow. Mein with a front kick to the body. He’s using his range well and moving extremely well on the feet. Crowd getting restless, but Mein is fighting with control and not getting reckless. Meanwhile, Perpetuo struggling to find a rhythm. Mein misses on an uppercut. Mein ducks under and takes the action to the floor. He can’t hold Perpetuo there long, and we reset on the feet. Mein still the better fighter on the feet. Perpetuo trying to turn up the heat, but he’s struggling to find the target. Round ends on the feet, and MMAjunkie gives it to Mein, 10-9.

Round 3 – Perpetuo starting a little quicker, but he catches a stiff left to the head. Mein is very relaxed. He fires a knee. Perpetuo is cut on the side of his head, and blood is streaming down his jaw line. Mein ducks in again and again scores with a takedown. Perpetuo scrambles into a kneebar attempt. Mein looks comfortable, but he’s not out of danger. Perpetuo stays on the leg. He scoots tighter ot the body, but Mein leans up and grabs his body to pull the pressure away. Main turns and settles into guard. They scramble, and Perpetuo pulls away as they reset on the feet. Both guys covered in blood now, and Perpetuo waves Mein in for a brawl. He’s on the attacj, and he wobbles Mein. Less than a minute. Mein retreating, and he looks for a takedown. Perpetuo stuffs it and moves into an inverted triangle. He runs out of time before he can finish it. MMAjunkie gives the final round to Perpetuo, 10-9, but gives Mein the fight 29-28.

Round 1 – Zachrich out with a jab, an Magalhaes answers with a haymaker that misses. Magalhaes keeps firing heavy leather and scores with a hook and then a knee. Fast pace. Magalhaes is all over him. Zachrich trying to recover and winces as he’s hit to the body and the head. Massive bombs. Magalhaes is unleashing, and referee John McCarthy steps in to wave it off. Zachrich complaining he was hit with a low blow, but this fight is over.

Round 1 – Touch of gloves to start. Payan with a quick kick to the body. He fires a quick left hook, as well. White trying to push forward, but Payan countering well to star. He goes to the body. Payan very active to start. White settling in. He lands a stuff jab. They trade shots, and a stiff left drops Payan. White pounding away with big punches on the floor, and referee Jorge Ortiz calls the fight. Payan pops immediately to his feet to protest, but White was landing bombs.

Round 1 – Masvidal rushes forward and takes the center. He kicks the legs and keeps Healy away. Healy circles off the fence and gets back to the center. Masvidal kicks the leg again and then follows with a nice left hand. Healy rushes in but gets cracked with a stiff right hand. Still, he drives in. Masvidal defends well and gets away. Masvidal the quicker fighter to start, and he’s moving well to stay safe. Healy does reach out and land a nice right, but he comes up short when he shoots inside. Masvidal defends and tries to wrap the neck. Healy shifts his position but can’t get the takedown. Healy backs away but shoots quickly back inside almost immediately. This time, he gets the fight to the floor. Masvidal won’t stay there, but Healy stays on top of his as he climbs to his feet. Masvidal pinned against the fence. Healy throws a knee inside, but Masvidal finally gets away. One minute left. Healy jabs, but Masvidal answers with a flurry. Masvidal with a nice kick to the body. Masvidal wants a flying knee, but Healy sees it and stuffs it. Still, Masvidal recovers and gets control as they hit the floor. He crawls back up, and they finish on the feet. MMAjunkie gives it to Masvidal, 10-9.

Round 2 – Healy gets forward quickly and gets into a clinch. He’s got Masvidal against the cage again. Masvidal defending well, and he brings a knee high to the chin. Healy lets go to pummel the body, and Masvidal circles away. Nice right hand from Masvidal. He fakes a knee and lands another. When Masvidal has space, he looks extremely sharp. Masvidal lands a slick three-punch combination. Healy inside, but he’s having no success at all. Masvidal pulls away and resets. Spinning kick from Masvidal. He’s shuffling his feet, feeling the flow. Healy pushes inside and gets a takedown, but Masvidal pops right back to his feet. Healy stays tight, but Masvidal circles off the cage. Masvidal with a nice lead uppercut. Healy trying to grind, but he’s getting outworked. MMAjunkie gives it to Masvidal, 10-9.

Round 3 – Masvidal forced to defend early as heal moves inside, but he’s up to the challenge. Masvidal circles off the cage and lands a few stiff kicks to the body. Masvidal retreats to the fence, and Healy uses it to get inside, but Masvidal quickly off of it and back in control. He retreats to the center, where he’s in complete control. Healy locks the body and scores a suplex. Masvidal scrambles up and rolls forward to try and reverse the position. Smooth turn from Masvidal, and he’s on top. Healy lost the little momentum he built, and Masvidal now in top position. Healy works to his feet, but now it’s Masvidal with the takedown. Masvidal looks to turn to the back. He can’t get there, but he’s still in control. Healy pushing until the final bell, but he’s going to come up short. MMAjunkie gives the final round to Masvidal, 10-9, and awards him the fight 30-27.

Alves slowly getting closer to his taller opponent. Baczynski’s work rate high, but he’s not landing a ton of shots. Alves staying patient. Baczynski wants a takedown, but Alves defends. Baczynski darting in and out of range, keeping Alves from getting close enough to land firm. Low kicks traded. Ales misses on a high kick. Alves finally gets close, but Baczynski trades and moves away. Alves slips a straight and gets briefly inside. Baczynski still moving well, but he’s bleeding from under his right eye. High kicks from Alves just miss. Low kicks traded. Alves starting to have some success. He chops the lead leg. He kicks the body. Baczynski tough, and he just misses a flying knee. Round ends on the feet, and MMAjunkie gives it to Alves, 10-9.

Round 2 – Baczynski trying to be active again, and he lands a nice right hand. Alves immediately returns to chopping the leg. Alves fires a high kick and then to the body. Baczynski staying busy, and he’s scoring with his hands, but Alves seems unfazed thus far. Still, Alves is staying in tight, where he can land. Blood coming rom Baczynski’s nose. His left leg is visibly reddened. The blood on Baczynski’s face is increasing, and he’s starting to paw at it. Still, he’s moving forward. Baczynski wants a takedown, but Alves defends it an d resets. Alves blocks a spinning backfist. Alves just misses a big knee. Baczynski is gritty, but he’s getting outworked. He does land one flush right, and now Alves is bleeding from the nose. Another right hand for Baczynski. Alves still mixing in kicks with his punching attacks. Good back and forth. MMAjunkie gives the second to Alves, 10-9.

Round 3 – Good scrap through two rounds. Alves trying to keep the pressure high. Baczynski wants a takedown, but Alves is able to stay upright. Baczynski still firing. Alves low kick sweeps Baczynski to the floor, but e pops back up. Alves dots him with a right hand. Baczynski catches a low kick but can’t quite get Alves to the floor. Baczynski shoots inside again but still can’t get the takedown. Alves continues to attack the leg. Baczynski pumps out a right hand and lands one clean. Alves lands a right of his own. Lot of heart from Baczynski. He tries again to take the fight to the floor, but no luck. Alves pushing inside. Baczynski trying to stay mobile, but the leg kicks have taken their toll. Still, Baczynski is trading. Baczynski lands a straight, but Alves answers with a big right. Baczynski somehow absorbs it and stays on his feet. Final seconds ticking away. The two decide to trade until the bell, and the crowd loves it. MMAjunkie gives the final round to Alves, 10-9, awarding him the fight 30-27. But Baczynski deserves a lot of credit.

Round 1 – Nurmagomedov starts on the outside. Dos Anjos moving his head, looking for angles. Nurmagomedov studying but yet to really engage. Dos Anjos misses on a kick, and he covers as Nurmagomedov rushes orward with strikes. Both wing big punches. Nurmagomedov shoots in, and dos Anjos tags him as comes inside. Nurmagomedov stays with the takedown and just manhandles dos Ajos to the floor. Quick scramble up for dos Anjos. Nurmagomedov stays tight and wrestles him back down, though dos Anjos pops immediately back to his feet and eventually pulls away. Nurmagomedov blocks a few high kicks. H rushes forward with punches and flying knee, eventually getting inside and scoring another takedown. Again, dos Anjos is quickly back to his feet, but Nurmagomedov is relentless with the pressure. Nurmagomedov finally backs away and just avoids a big knee before pressing back inside with a big right hand. Dos Anjos lively on the feet when he has space, but that’s not too often. Dos Anjos lands to the body, but Nurmagomedov quickly back on the aggression. Round ends there, and MMAjunkie gives it to Nurmagomedov, 10-9.

Round 2 – Dos Anjos misses on an early high kick. Nurmagomedov moves on the outside, and the pair trade punches. Dos Anjos keeping the pressure high with his strikes. Nurmagomedov seems content to trade but then suddenly drops down and brings the fight to the floor. Dos Anjos wants the guillotine. Nurmagomedov seems fine, even as dos Anjos increases the pressure and grimaces. Nurmagomedov eventually slides out and keeps the body locked as dos Anjos tries to get free. Nurmagomedov wants to scoot around to the back as they stand, but he can’t quite secure the position. Crowd wants more action, and Nurmagomedov fires in a knee to the body. Nurmagomedov stays tight and drives dos Anjos again to the floor. Dos Anjos settles into guard. One minute remains. Nurmagomedov in control of the positioning. He’s not doing a ton of damage, but he’s relentless with his pressure. Dos Anjos with no room to work. Nurmagomedov backs away and tries a flying guard pass. Round ends, and MMAjunkie sees it again for Nurmagomedov, 10-9.

Round 3 – Nurmagomedov opens quickly with kicks. Dos Anjos blocks and throw s a few of his own. Still high tension between them. Dos Anjos misses a leaping left, and Nurmagomedov clinches up and looks for a takedown. Dos Anjos stays upright and scrambles away. Dos Anjos apparently wants to get on top and surprisingly looks for a takedown, but it’s Nurmagomedov with the impressive slam to the floor, and he’s right back on top. Dos Anjos working from guard. Nurmagomedov backs away briefly but can’t pass the legs. Still, he settles back into guard. Dos Anjos turns for an arm, but Nurmagomedov easily pulls away and lands a big right hand. Dos Anjose trying to scramble free, but Nurmagomedov not giving him any room to breathe. He ends the fight on top. MMAjunkie gives the final round to Nurmagomedov, 10-9, and awards him the fight 30-27.

He misses a flying knee but the rushes forward with a flurry. He wobbles Tavares with a straight left and presses him to the floor. Tavares scrambles to his feet. Romero holds tight with a kimura grip and then adjusts and lands a powerful slamming takedown. Romero in side control. Tavares turns and stands. Romero keeps the body locked. Tavares trying to turn in and escape. Romero wants to kick the legs out, and he’s not letting go. He gets Tavares down, but Tavares refuses to stay there. Tavares trying desperately to turn in. He does, and they both land on the break. Romero misses a wild kick but gets inside. Tavares defends well early, but Romero drags him to the floor. Tavares hits a switch, but Romero turns for the arm. He nearly hits a kimura. Round ends, and it’s a good one for Romero, who takes it on the MMAjunkie card, 10-9.

Round 2 – Romero wastes no time ducking in for an immediate takedown. He moves to side control, and Tavares is flat on his back. Still, Tavares turns, and he escapes to his feet. On the restart, Tavares lands a nice left hand. He just misses on a knee, but he lands again as Romero tries to drive in for a takedown. Romero staying at distance. Round 3 – The two fighters embrace to start the third. Tavares misses on a kick to the body. He’s looking to strike. Romero still moving well. Tavares shoots in, but Romero stops him and drives in a few knees. Tavares gets his head free and eventually pulls away. Tavares rushes forward with punches, but Romero covers well. They trade kicks from distance. Tavares needs to press. Romero content to stay on the outside right now. Tavares trying to flurry, but Romero rushes forward with a powerful takedown and drives his opponent to the canvas. Tavares turns to a knee and then gets to his feet, but Romero say tight to the body. Romero tying things up with a clinch, but the referee eventually breaks them apart. One minute left. Tavares walking forward. He throws a spinning kick that misses. Romero gets back inside and just drives him to the floor. Cerrone with a nice right, but Barboza counters, as well. Barboza with a sharp kick to the body. Cerrone kicks the body. Big punches land for both, but Barboza sees to be scoring with the crisper blows. Barboza looks extremely comfortable, and he lands a stiff jab. Cerrone scores with a jab, as well. Cerrone with a sharp jab that floors Barboza, and Cerrone follows quickly to the floor. He jumps on the back and gets the choke. It’s in deep, and Barboza can’t get out. Barboza has to tap. Unbelievable win.

Carmouche the busier fighter to start, but Tate walks her down and moves into the clinch. Carmouche locks her hands, and she’s the one that gets the first takedown. Tate with an elbows to the back, but she’s warned for a 12-to-6 blow. Carmouche stalling out on top. Crowd wants it back on the fight. Tate works in a few more elbows and tries to get her arm inside for a choke. Carmouche has the legs trapped, but Tate turns and works quickly to her feet. Carmouche stays tight to the body. Tate struggling to break the grip. Carmouche gets her hands low and scores another takedown. Tate again gets to her feet, but Carmouche won’t let go of the grip. Tate finally breaks it, but she winds up getting tossed to the floor. Carmouche finishes on top, and MMAjunkie gives her the round, 10-9.

Round 2 – Tate opens with a right hand. She looks to have a little more sense of urgency. Still, we’re quickly back into a clinch. Tate tries to control the neck, but Carmouche gets free and again locks the body. Tate clears it, and now she’s looking for a takedown. Nothing there, and she backs away. Crowd cheering for Tate, and she lands a jab. But she can’t string anything together, and Carmouche gets another takedown. Tate gets right back to her feet, but Carmouche isn’t giving her any space. Carmouche with a takedown, and she again traps the legs. This time, Tate gets quickly free and works to a knee. Carmouche drag her back down. Tate looks for a guillotine choke. It’s not there, but she uses it to stand. Tate has her right arm around the neck, and she drops to her back to finish a guillotine. Carmouche rolls over, but Tate goes wit her. She lets go of the choke. Carmouche wraps the body, and Tate rolls for a knee at the bell. Close round, but MMAjunkie leans toward Tate, 10-9.

Round 3 – Tate gets to the center, and she flurries when Carmouche moves forward. Tate pushes inside and gets her own takedown. Carmouche wants to get to her feet, but Tate stays with her and brings her back to the floor. Tate in the dominant position. She’s trying to get room to attack. She eventually squeezes around to the back. Carmouche prevent the choke from coming in, Tate stays with it. She’s in the dominant position. Back control, and she looks again for the choke. She’s a little off to the side, so she can’t quite get it cinched. Carmouche scrambles to her feet, but Tate won’t be bucked off. She gets the arm under the neck and squeezes. It looks deep, but Carmouche peels the arm away. Incredible heart by Carmouche, but there’s less than one minute remaining. Tate tries to turn for an armbar. Not there, so they trade punches and kicks until the bell. MMAjunkie sees the final round for Tate, awarding her the fight 29-28.

Instead, Werdum covers well and drags Browne to the floor. Half-guard for Browne, but this is definitely not where he wants to be. He bucks and rolls and gets back to his feet with a little more than two minutes left. More kicks from Browne, and he takes a deep breath. Browne tries again for the clinch, but Werdum gets away. Werdum with a big kick to the body. He flurries with his hands, as well. He’s got Browne’s respect now. Browne catches a kick and holds it a bit before letting Werdum go. Spinning heels kick from Browne, but it’s Werdum who lands with more punches. Big shots from both men. Werdum lands a big uppercut. He pumps out a jab. Werdum misses a spinning kick but lands with a late flurry of punches. Great round, but MMAjunkie gives it to Werdum, 10-9.

Round 2 – Werdum with an early kick to the groin. It’s an accident, and Browne gets quickly back to work. Werdum with a kick to the body. He kicks low, and Browne goes high. They trade big strikes in the pocket before Werdum drops down and scores with a takedown. Browne tries to scramble to his feet. Werdum wants the back. Browne using the cage to block him for now. Browne turns in, and Werdum pushes him to the canvas. Browne has half-guard. Crowd doesn’t like it as Werdum holds the head and arm, but referee John McCarthy lets them work. Werdum advances to side control and tries to posture up and strike. Browne has his feet on the cage, but he’s struggling to get off his back. Werdum looking to strike. As Browne defends, Werdum turns his attention to the right arm of his opponent. He locks up a kimura grip, but Browne defends it well and scrambles up. Browne looks exhausted once back on the feet. Werdum lets him back away. Browne with leaping left hands on the feet. He scores with a right, as well. Werdum misses with a spinning kick and then knees the body. Round ends, and MMAjunkie gives it to Werdum, 10-9.

Round 3 – Browne scores with a right hand, but Werdum answers with a flurry of punches that all seem to score. Browne looks very tired, but he’s still looking to attack. Werdum a little more measured in his attacks, and it’s paying off in terms of endurance. Spinning backfist partially blocked by Browne, but it hurts him. Werdum rushes forward but doesn’t get careless. They move to the center. Werdum hits the deck on a missing spinning shot but flips himself back to his feet and goes quickly on the attack. Werdum smiling in the cage. Browne tags him with a good shot, but Werdum gets into the clinch and drives in a big knee. Browne looks hurt, and he covers up against the fence. Werdum tags him a few times and then looks for the takedown. Browne sneaks in a few of his trademark elbows, but Werdum pulls away. Browne continues tofire haymakers, but he misses. Werdum also landing bombs inside. One minute left. Knee scores for Werdum. leaping left hand lands. Browne bleeding from the nose. Werdum in complete control right now. Werdum kicks the body. Werdum talking to Browne, and he lands a right hand and a kick to the body. Round ends, and MMAjunkie gives it to Werdum, 10-9.

Round 4 – Two quick jabs score for Werdum. he kicks the legs, as well. Browne rushes forward with a right hand, but it misses. Werdum with a left hand that scores. Werdum’s striking still looks crisp. Left hand scores. Browne is exhausted, but Werdum still respecting his power. Werdum kicks the body and rushes forward with a right hand. Werdum switching stances. Again, he kicks the body and follows with a punch up top. Browne lands a kick to the cup, and Werdum takes a quick break. On the restart, Browne looks to jab, but it’s Werdum who scores first. Browne comes back with a big right hand. Werdum drops for a leg, but Browne pulls away. Browne giving chase as Werdum retreats, but it’s Werdum landing the key blows. Browne fires off a few high kicks that miss. Werdum resets and lands a jab. Werdum cruises to close the round, but he did enough to take it on the MMAjunkie card, 10-9.

Round 5 – Browne is going to need something special. Instead, Werdum bullrushes him to the floor. Browne won’t stay there, and he gets back to his feet. Crowd starts to chant Werdum’s name. It seems a finish is possible, but Werdum is clearly ahead on the cards. He lands a nice right hand. Stiff jab for Werdum. He looks for a takedown that won’t come. Browne trying to find anything on the feet. Instead, it’s a Werdum right that lands clean. Browne bleeding from the nose. Werdum tags him with another right hand. Two minutes left. Werdum kicks the body and fires more punches. Browne wisely backs away. Browne with a leaping punch that misses. Werdum tags him with another right hand. Browne with a few late haymakers, but he’s coming up empty. Browne misses a spinning kick. Werdum scores with more punches, and Browne’s face is a mess. Browne still chasing in the final seconds, but he’ll come up short. MMAjunkie gives the final round to Werdum, 10-9, giving him the fight 50-45.
