Donald Cerrone made quick work of Adriano Martins, ending their UFC on Fox 10 fight with a knockout on Saturday night in Chicago.
Cerrone threw a headkick, placing his shin perfectly on his opponent’s chin, earning the KO at the 4:40 mark of the opening round.
“I’m back, man,” Cerrone said, following the win. “I wanted to do what I do best. You got to see the old cowboy with a little bit of the new. My goal is to be a champion. A lot of fighters say they can’t get fights. I’ll fight anyone, anytime. I want to fight in Baltimore and Dallas. I’m making another run for the belt. I’m right here. I want to fight six times this year, I’m right here.”
Martines landed the first significant strike of the fight, hitting Cerrone with a kick to the body. “Cowboy,” however, came back with a number of strikes throughout the first round.
Cerrone scored a takedown after his opponent missed a punch, but Martins recovered and was able to return to the feet for a standing fight.
Following a few short exchanges, Cerrone landed the headkick that brought on the end of the fight and sent Martins falling to the Octagon floor, unconscious.
With the win, Cerrone earns his second consecutive victory and improves his record to 22-6, 1 NC.
