UFC fighters react to UFC 166's Melendez-Sanchez 'Fight of the Year' candidate

As expected, Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez blew the roof off of Houston’s Toyota Center with an incredible three-round war in one of the featured bouts at “UFC 166: Velasquez vs. dos Santos III.”

Melendez walked away with the unanimous decision victory, but both men put on an incredible display of heart and determination over the course of the 15-minute battle.

Fans were in a frenzy at the conclusion of the memorable contest, and the reaction on social media was the same.

The MMA community showered both Melendez (22-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Sanchez (24-6 MMA, 13-6 UFC) with praise following of the fight, and if you happened to miss them, here are the top Twitter reactions from Saturday’s “Fight of the Year” candidate:
