Anthony Johnson's win over Phil Davis at UFC 172 instantly placed him among the light heavyweight division's top contenders in the latest UFC official rankings.

The top 2 fights at UFC 172 were the most significant ones in the light heavyweight division this year. Jon Jones remained the undisputed champion, but Anthony Johnson's win over Phil Davis really was the result that shifted several fighters around in today's updated rankings. Rumble soared from 14th to 5th, and with a win as impressive as his last Saturday you can only assume that big things are fast approaching for him as he confirms himself as a new contender.

Check out the latest rankings here, where you can use the dropdown menu to see the individual rankings of all panelists, including BE's own Tim Burke, Fraser Coffeen, and T.P. Grant.

Pound-for-pound: No changes. Jones remains the top P4P fighter in the world, with Jose Aldo and Renan Barao right behind him.

Flyweight: Chris Cariaso is now ranked 10th, switching with Brad Pickett who is now 11th. Cariaso fights next month against Louis Smolka. Upcoming title challenger Ali Bagautinov has somehow dropped from his joint 4th position with John Moraga to 5th.

Men's Bantamweight: Erik Perez rises to the 10th spot while Alex Caceres is bumped down to 12th.

Women's Bantamweight: Bethe Correia cracks the top 10 at exactly 10th, while Julianna Pena (11th) and Germaine de Randamie (12th) both move down one spot. There are only 16 women who have fought in the UFC, so 14th ranked Jessamyn Duke sees no change in her standing.

Featherweight: No changes

Lightweight: No changes

Welterweight: Erick Silva went to #14, swapping places with Ryan LaFlare. I have no idea why this happened outside of another convenient upping of Silva's ranking just before his big fight with Matt Brown at UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati.

Middleweight: Brad Tavares was tied with Thales Leites in the #14 spot, but he's been bumped to #15.

Light Heavyweight: As mentioned earlier, Johnson vaulted from 14 to 5, while Phil Davis fell from 4 to 7. Rashad Evans took Glover Teixeira's 2 spot following Teixeira's loss to Jones, and the Brazilian is now ranked 3rd. Daniel Cormier moves up one spot to 4th, and so does ... Vitor Belfort (from 13 to 12). Dropping in the rankings along with Davis and Teixeira are Chael Sonnen (7th to 9th), Ryan Bader (9th to 10th), Jimi Manuwa (10th to 11th), Rafael Cavalcante (12th to 13th), and Ovince St. Preux (11th to 14th).

Heavyweight: Stipe Miocic holds down 7th, breaking the previous tie for 6th he shared with Alistair Overeem.
