Donald Cerrone had the opportunity to train with one of the most talented “big men” in sports, and he said he walked away impressed.
Cerrone (28-6 MMA, 15-3 UFC) tweeted out a picture of himself and NBA superstar Blake Griffin on Tuesday, noting that “Ol boy got some moves. Heavyweights watch out.”
Cerrone is the No. 4-ranked fighter in the NOS Energy Drink MMA lightweight rankings and faces lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (24-7 MMA, 13-5 UFC) for the belt at UFC on FOX 17. The event takes place Dec. 19 at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
At 6-1, Cerrone is very tall for the 155-pound division, but he was still dwarfed by Griffin, the five-time all-star 6-10, 251-pound Los Angeles Clippers power forward.
Griffin has used MMA training as part of his offseason routine for years now. The Clippers kick off their pre-season schedule on Oct. 2 when they face the Denver Nuggets.
