Following Jon Jones' UFC 172's Light Heavyweight title defense, UFC president Dana White spoke to the press about his plan for Jones' next fight: Alexander Gustafsson in Europe, possibly in a stadium.

At the UFC 172 post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White didn't hesitate when asked who was next for triumphant Light Heavyweight champ Jon Jones.

"Gustafsson gets the next fight against Jones. We gotta see how that plays out. I don't know, physically, how Jones is right now. We've got to take the fight wherever the fight is going to do the best. This thing could do 50 or 60,000 seats or more. If we go to Europe to do it, we will."

When media asked Dana if the champ might object to fighting in his opponent's hometown, White replied, "Jon's going to agree to whatever fight we make. What's Jon going to agree to? Where's he going to want to fight? Seattle?"

"Sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do. We don't ever have people say, ‘This is where I'm going to fight my fight.' It's never happened. It won't happen. We've got to take the fight wherever the fight is going to do the best."

White added that the fight would be on US, not European time.

Jones was not interested in answering questions about Gustafsson or any other potential challenger after his win over Glover Teixeira. Gustafsson gave Jones the toughest challenge of his career at UFC 165 last year.
