UFC and Strikeforce Veteran Caros Fodor to Make ONE FC Debut in Jakarta

26-Caros-Fodor-7227-UFC-157-weighStrikeforce and UFC veteran Caros Fodor is set to make his promotional debut at ONE FC: Champions & Warriors on Sept. 13 when he takes on unbeaten Korean Yang Seung Ho in Jakarta.

Fodor was harshly cut from the UFC following a split decision loss to Sam Stout in February in a fight that MMAWeekly.com had him winning 29-28. Prior to that defeat, he had a successful stint in Strikeforce, going 5-1 for the now defunct organization.

Yang Seung Ho (6-0) is not as well known as his American opponent, but remains undefeated in an MMA career that began in 2007. The biggest name on his resume to date is Dave Gardner. He faces a big step up in competition against Fodor (7-3), who also had an extremely successful amateur career.

ONE FC: Champions & Warriors takes place at the 15,000-capacity Istora Senayan Stadium. Asia’s biggest MMA promotion announced two additional match-ups on Friday to complete the 11-bout fight card, which will be shown live on a number of networks, including Star Sports.

In a heavyweight fight, former kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion Alain Ngalani, from Cameroun, makes his MMA debut against Egyptian brawler Mahmoud Hassan (1-1), who is a veteran of African promotion Extreme Fighting Championship and also has pro boxing experience.

The third fight to be released is a flyweight affair that sees Brazilian Almiro Barros, who holds a black belt in BJJ, make his MMA debut against experienced Australian/Vietnamese fighter Kian Pham (6-7).

Headlining ONE FC: Champions & Warriors will be a bout between top flyweight contenders Shinichi Kojima (13-5-5) and Andrew Leone (6-2), while the co-main event consists of a lightweight clash between Vuyisile Colossa (6-5) and Kotetsu Boku (20-8-2).
