UFCTroops3-Tim-KennedyFor outstanding performances at UFC Fight for the Troops 3, Tim Kennedy, Michael Chiesa, Rustam Khabilov, and Jorge Masvidal took home fight night bonuses on Wednesday night. The fighters took home an additional $50,000 for their efforts during the event, which took place at Fort Campbell Army Base in Fort Campbell, Ky.

For finishing Rafael Natal in the main event, Kennedy earned the Knockout of the Night with a highlight reel finish. The military veteran scored the knockout with punches at 4:40 of the first round.

Nabbing the Submission of the Night was Chiesa, who finished Colton Smith in the second round of their main card fight. The Ultimate Fighter 15 winner locked on a rear-naked choke, finishing the contest at the 1:41 mark of the round.

The Fight of the Night went to Khabilov and Masvidal for their main card showcasing. UFC president Dana White said during the post-fight news conference that many of the evening’s matches were well fought, making it difficult to select the outstanding fight. Masvidal and Khabilov, however, did well enough to stick out most to the UFC boss in a match that Khabilov won by unanimous decision.

The total amount of bonuses handed out by the UFC was $200,000.

First, it was Vitor Belfort's elevated levels of testosterone in February. Next came Wanderlei Silva's refusal to be tested in May. It all came to a climax only Shakespeare could pen when Chael Sonnen tested positive for human growth hormone, among a few other banned substances, in June—UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy had seen enough.
"They randomly test three dudes and all three fail," Kennedy first told ESPN's Brett Okamoto. "All in my weight class. All dudes I could potentially be fighting. I we more

If all the hype that preceded UFC Fight Night 46 got to Irish star Conor McGregor, he certainly didn't show it. McGregor's performance against Brazilian Diego Brandao at the O2 Arena in Dublin was not only cool and methodical, but it was good enough for the UFC to award him a Performance of the Night bonus check for $50,000.
McGregor finished Brandao in the first round via TKO (strikes), as the decibel level shook to 111 inside the arena.

Nick Diaz has not won a mixed martial arts (MMA) match since Oct. 2011, when he beat B.J. Penn from pillar to post en route to a unanimous decision win at UFC 137. Back-to-back losses since then, as well as a self-imposed two-year retirement, and Diaz could be back in Dana White's proverbial "title mix" if he is successful against former 185-pound champion, Anderson Silva, in the main event of UFC 183 on Jan. 31, 2015. That's according to White, who earlier this evening appeared on ESPN to discu more
