UFC Fight Night Weigh-in Results: Dublin Headliners McGregor, Brandao Official

With reconstructive knee surgery in the rearview mirror, Conor McGregor faces an Ultimate Fighting Championship spotlight on full blast.

McGregor checked in at 146 pounds for his five-round clash with “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 winner Diego Brandao (145.5) in the UFC Fight Night “McGregor vs. Brandao” main event on Saturday at The O2 in Dublin. Welterweight co-headliners Gunnar Nelson (170.5) and Zak Cummings (171) also made their contracted weights without incident at Friday’s official weigh-in.

A former two-division Cage Warriors Fighting Championship titleholder, McGregor will enter the cage on a 10-fight winning streak. The 26-year-old SBG Ireland representative last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Shogun vs. Sonnen” in August, when he captured a unanimous decision over Max Holloway despite suffering an ACL tear. McGregor has delivered 12 of his 14 career victories by knockout or technical knockout, his resume highlighted by four-, 16-, 67-, 82- and 93-second stoppages.

Brandao, 27, replaced the injured Cole Miller on short notice. The Jackson-Wink MMA export last fought at UFC 168 in December, when he was on the receiving end of a first-round knockout from Dustin Poirier at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. An aggressive standup fighter who also carries the rank of black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Brandao has won seven of his past nine bouts.

UFC Fight Night “McGregor vs. Brandao” -- which streams to UFC Fight Pass at 12:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. PT -- will also feature a flyweight scrap pitting American Top Team’s Brad Pickett (126) against former Tachi Palace Fights champion Ian McCall (126) and a lightweight duel pairing “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes” winner Norman Parke (155.5) with the resurgent Naoyuki Kotani (155.5). Six preliminary bouts will round out the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Ireland’s capital city: Ilir Latifi (205) vs. Chris Dempsey (204), Neil Seery (125.5) vs. Phil Harris (126), Cathal Pendred (186) vs. Mike King (185.5), Tor Troeng (185) vs. Trevor Smith (185), Cody Donovan (205) vs. Nikita Krylov (205) and Josh Sampo (*126.5) vs. Patrick Holohan (125.5).
