GOIANIA, Brazil – After one round of UFC Fight Night 67’s headliner, it looked as though Carlos Condit had an advantage in volume over Thiago Alves, whose punches and kicks indicated an edge in power.
But looks can be deceiving, and timing is everything. Early in the second round, Condit snuck in an elbow that met an advancing Alves, causing a broken nose that forced a referee stoppage – via doctor’s recommendation – at the end of the second round.
The welterweight bout was the main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 67 event at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
