UFC Fight Night 44 lineup set with 13 bouts in San Antonio

The fight card for the UFC’s debut in San Antonio later this month is set with 13 bouts.

UFC Fight Night 44 takes place June 28 at AT&T Center in San Antonio. The six-fight main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following four prelims on FOX Sports 1 and three on UFC Fight Pass. The event is the UFC’s first in San Antonio.

The main card features a featherweight contenders bout between Cub Swanson (20-5 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Jeremy Stephens (23-9 MMA, 10-8 UFC). Swanson has won five straight fights since his lone loss in the UFC, a submission setback to recent title challenger Ricardo Lamas at UFC on FOX 1. Stephens snapped a three-fight skid at lightweight by dropping down to featherweight, where he has gone 3-0 with wins over Estevan Payan, Rony Jason and, most recently, Darren Elkins.

Also on the main card, Kelvin Gastelum (8-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) puts his unbeaten record on the line against vs. Nicholas Musoke (12-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in the co-main event.

Myles Jury (14-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) takes on Abel Trujillo (12-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC) in a lightweight fight on the main card; Andrew Craig (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) meets Cezar Ferreira (7-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at middleweight; Lamas (13-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) returns after a featherweight title loss to Jose Aldo to face Hacran Dias (21-2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC); and Clint Hester (10-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) vs. fights Antonio Braga Neto (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at middleweight.

The featured bout on the preliminary card is a lightweight contest between Joe Ellenberger (14-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Frank Trevino (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC).

UFC Fight Night 44 is one of two events for the promotion on June 28. The UFC Fight Pass-streamed UFC Fight Night 43 card takes place earlier in the day in New Zealand.
