SAN ANTONIO – Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 44 event drew an announced attendance of 9,227 and a live gate of $728,358.
The UFC announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.
UFC Fight Night 44 took place at AT&T Center in San Antonio, and featured a featherweight contenders fight between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens in the FOX Sports 1-televised headliner. Swanson took a unanimous decision in a five-round slugfest, which won “Fight of the Night” honors.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will verify the figures and is expected to release an official tally next week.
While the number of “comp” or free tickets was not revealed, the figures represent an average revenue of $78.94 per ticket issued.
The event was the UFC’s first in San Antonio, though parent company Zuffa visited the city with the now-defunct WEC in 2009
