UFC Fight Night 37 Drug Tests Come Back Clean; No TUEs Granted in Macau

All drug tests conducted at UFC Fight Night 37 came back negative, Sherdog.com Wednesday confirmed with an Ultimate Fighting Championship official.

The 16 fighters who competed at the event were all tested, and no therapeutic use exemptions were issued. UFC Fight Night 37 took place March 1 at Cotai Arena in Macau and was headlined by a welterweight showdown pitting surging Korean Dong Hyun Kim against returning British talent John Hathaway.

Kim scored a devastating finish in the third round of the main event, countering Hathaway with a gorgeous spinning back elbow that abruptly ended the contest 62 seconds into the frame. Prior to the early “Knockout of the Year” nominee, Lipeng Zhang took a controversial split decision over Wang Sai to win “The Ultimate Fighter: China.” Also, Matt Mitrione stopped Shawn Jordan with strikes in their heavyweight main card attraction.

The March 1 show marked the second time the Ultimate Fighting Championship has set up shop in China’s special administrative region, with the Las Vegas-based promotion debuting in Macau in 2012 with UFC on Fuel TV 6. Following UFC Fight Night 37, promotion officials announced plans to return to Macau on Aug. 23, though no matchups were announced for the event.
