UFC Fight Night 36 draws reported attendance of 7,511

JARAGUA DO SUL, Brazil – Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 36 event drew an announced attendance of 7,511.

Grace Tourinho, the UFC’s managing director in Brazil, announced the figure at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie.com attended.

UFC Fight Night 36 took place at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil, and featured a pair of key middleweight contests in the FOX Sports 1-televised co-headliners. Lyoto Machida scored a five-round decision win over Gegard Mousasi in the night’s main event, while Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza outpointed Frenchman Francis Carmont in the 15-minute co-feature.

Saturday’s event was the second time the UFC has visited the venue. In May 2013, UFC on FX 8 was also held at the venue and drew an announced attendance of 7,642 fans.

The UFC traditionally does not release a live gate figure for its Brazilian events.
