Round 1: Nijem takes the center of the cage.  He lands a right hand followed by an outside leg kick.  Edwards presses forward with a right hand.  Nijem inches forward.  Edwards moves in with a left hand.  Nijem answers with a jab.  He lands a kick to the body and Edwards counters with a left hand.  Nijem uses a front kick to keep Edwards on the outside.  Edwards blitzes forward but misses with his strikes.  Edwards circles on the outside.  Nijem attempted a flying knee that missed.  Edwards moving forward now.  Nijem moves in and slips.  Edwards rushes in and lands a combination.  Nijem lands his jab.  He lands an uppercut.  Edwards fires back with a spin kick to the body.  Nijem misses with a spinning kick and slips.  Edwards jumps on him.  Nijem isolates a leg and the round ends.  Difficult round to score.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Nijem.

Round 2:  Edwards’ corner tells him that he doesn’t have to kick.  They advice him to use a combination to score the knockout.  Nijem lands a front kick to the body.  He slips and Edwards applies an arm-in guillotine choke.  He squeezes.  Nijem gets out of it.  Nijem lands right hands to the body.  Edwards works for an arm and gets to his feet.  Edwards moving laterally on the outside.  Nijem moves in and gets a takedown.  He lands a knee that hurts Edwards.  He lands a right hand and a front kick to the face.  He takes Edwards down and takes his back.  Nijem applies a body triangle and works for a rear naked choke.  Edwards tries to roll out of it but Nijem stays on him.  Nijem continues to work for the choke.  He softens Edwards up with left hands to the body.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Nijem.

Round 3: Nijem’s corner tells him to keep the pressure on heading into the final round.  Edwards circles.  Nijem throws a front kick.  Edwards counters with a right hand.  Nijem changes levels and secures a double-leg takdown.  He delivers an elbow.  Edwards tries to control the wrists of Nijem.  Edwards stands and lands a left hook.  Edwards is cut along his left eye.  Nijem counters a kick with a straight right hand.  Nijem circles on the outside.  Edwards lands a counter right hand.  Edwards delivers a spinning heel kick.  Nijem decides to get the fight to the ground.  Edwards stands and lands a left hook on the break.  Edwards lands a left hand on the inside.  Nijem works for a single-leg takedown.  Edwards pulls guard working for a guillotine choke.  It wasn’t there.  Edwards isolates a leg.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round Edwards.
