Former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold on Wednesday night at The Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga., showed that he has finally assimilated to the Octagon, knocking Costas Philippou out in the UFC Fight Night 35 main event with a successive kicks to the liver.
When the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission on Thursday released the UFC Fight Night 35 medical suspensions to MMAWeekly.com, it showed that Rockhold’s quick work of Philippou left him unscathed. Like many of the other fighters on the card, he received a minimal seven-day rest period.
Only one of the UFC Fight Night 35 athletes received more than the 45-day suspension that Cole Miller was issued because of his broken hand. Derek Brunson is out indefinitely due to a broken jaw. He will require medical clearance before he is allowed to fight again.
