Bruno Santos vs. Krzysztof Jotko

Round 1:  Santos takes the center of the Octagon.  Jotko circling on the outside.  Santos lands a kick to the body.  Santos inches forward.  He lands an outside leg kick.  Jotko counters with a left hand.  Santos changes levels and looks to get the fight to the ground.  He presses Jotko against the cage.  Jotko secures a trip takedown along the fence.  Santos works his way back to his feet.  They battle for position inside the clinch.  Jotko lands short left hands.  Santos turns him and changes levels working for a takedown.  Jotko defends the attempt but gets hit with a right hand.  The referee separates them.  Santos lands a right hand and works for a single leg takedown.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Santos.

Round 2: They meet in the middle.  Santos misses with a big right hand.  Jotko delivers an outside leg kick.  Jotko lands a counter right hand.  Santos ties him up and pushes him to the cage.  They work for position inside the clinch before separating.  Jotko presses forward.  He lands a straight left hand followed by a right.  Santos closes the distance and looks to get the fight to the canvas.  Jotko lands short shots on the inside.  Santos has been unable to get Jotko down.  A minute remains in the round as a fan yells, “boring.”  Jotko lands a knee to the body inside the clinch.  They separate and Jotko lands a right hand that drops Santos.  He gets back to his feet and eats a left hand.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Jotko.

Round 3: Jotko moving forward to start the final round.  Santos lands a right hand and Jotko misses with the counter.  Jotko steps in with a left hand and Santos initiates the clinch.  He changes levels and elevates Jotko with a double leg takedown and slams him to the canvas.  He works inside Jotko’s guard.  Santos lands a right hand.  Jotko is active off his back.  Santos moves to half guard before advancing to side control.  He takes Jotko’s back.  Jotko sweeps him with two minutes remaining in the round.  Jotko delivers a hard elbow.  He works in Santos’ closed guard.  Jotko chips away with short punches.  Santos works for an arm triangle choke from the bottom.  He squeezes but can’t finish the choke.  Jotko lands a right hand at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Jotko.

The judges score the fight for Jotko by unanimous decision.  The scorecards read 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27.
