UFC Fight Night 31 ‘Fight for the Troops 3’ Gets Germaine de Randamie, Amanda Nunes

A women’s bantamweight showdown between Germaine de Randamie and Amanda Nunes has been added to UFC Fight Night 31.

The Nov. 6 event takes place at Fort Campbell in Hopkinsville, Ky., and is headlined by Lyoto Machida’s middleweight debut against Tim Kennedy. The UFC’s third “Fight for the Troops” event will also see Jorge Masvidal square off with Rustam Khabilov at 155 pounds, while top female talents Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis clash at bantamweight.

De Randamie, 29, began her MMA career in 2008 and joined Strikeforce just over two years later, debuting with a first-round knockout of Stephanie Webber in January 2011. “The Iron Lady” departed Strikeforce with a 2-1 record when the promotion folded and made her UFC this past July, using an effective clinch attack to scores a split decision win over veteran Julie Kedzie at UFC on Fox 8.

Four years younger than her upcoming foe, Nunes also picked up a victory in her UFC foray, scoring a first-round technical knockout over hard-swinging German Sheila Gaff. The Brazilian has earned a 2-2 record in her last four fights after posting six straight victories from May 2008 to January 2011. “Lioness” owns seven of her eight career wins via knockout and has gone the distance just once in 11 pro outings.
