Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann

Round 1: Kampmann immediately shoots, eventually dragging Condit to the mat and landing in his full guard. Kampmann postures up to start a ground and pound attack, but Condit is constantly moving, trying to find a submission. Kampmann resets and starts landing some punches. He stands, allowing Condit to regain his feet, but Kampmann locks him up from behind and puts him back on the mat. Kampmann briefly takes his back, but Condit reverses, puts Kampmann on his back and lands a few shots before they return to their feet. They clinch along the fence, Kampmann tripping Condit back to the canvas. Kampmann starts ground and pounding from Condit’s full guard, but Condit punches off of his back until they once again work back to standing with just under a minute left in the opening round. Condit lands a punch combination, but Kampmann answers with a punch of his own and then takes Condit back to the mat, finishing the round in Condit’s full guard. MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Kampmann

Round 2: They start a little slow this round, but Kampmann starts landing his jab. They clinch up briefly, Kampmann landing some short punches and then shooting the takedown again. Condit lands a knee as they separate, but they trade some solid combinations. Condit body locks Kampmann from behind, driving some knees to his hamstrings before they separate an start trading blows in the middle of the Octagon. Condit is starting to step up his punching, landing several combinations. Kampmann backs up briefly, moves forward, but eats a couple stiff right hands. Kampmann is starting to look a little more hesitant now, while Condit seems to be finding his groove, mixing up punches and kicks with fluidity. Kampmann shoots, backing Condit up to the fence, but Condit avoids the takedown and nearly takes Kampmann down as the round winds down. MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Condit

Round 3: Kampmann immediately looks for the takedown again, but Condit pops him with the right hand. Kampmann shoots the single this time, lifting Condit up and planting him on the mat. Condit wall walks back to his feet, Kampmann pressing him on the fence, but Condit slips out and lands a couple punches on the break. Looking completely relaxed, Condit lands a body combination that backs Kampmann up, and then goes with kicks to the leg. He goes back to some methodical combinations to Kampmann’s face, which is becoming a crimson mask. Condit steps up the pressure, the blood visibly bothering Kampmann’s vision. Condit’s combinations coming much quicker now, and mixing in the kicks and jumping knees more. Kampmann goes into defense and tries to take Condit down. Condit goes for a choke, but Kampmann spins out. Condit goes for another choke as they hit the mat, Kampmann escapes again, and they return to their feet, Condit constantly striking the entire time. MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Condit

Round 4: Kampmann instantly takes Condit down again, but he pops right back to his feet and they start trading punches. Kampmann hits Condit with a solid shot, but Condit rocks him back with a right-left combo, moves in punching. He lands a hard shot to the body then clinches, driving knees to the head, sending Kampmann to the mat. The referee steps in and stops the fight.

The crowd was insanely hot at the start. Brandao landed a head kick early. He went back to kicking high while McGregor threw some spinning stuff. The first takedown attempt came about 30 seconds in, with the Brazilian ducking under but failing to complete it. Conor reversed Diego against the fence and the action slowed down while the crowd got the chance to catch its breath. Once they did, they started a "CONOR" chant. He responded with a takedown.
