UFC Books Fight Night Event Aug. 16 at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine

The UFC will make its first visit to Maine on Aug. 16. | /Sherdog.com

UFC President Dana White announced Thursday that the Las Vegas-based promotion will hold a UFC Fight Night show at Bangor’s Cross Insurance Center on Aug. 16. The Cross Insurance Center opened in September 2013 and seats up to 8,500 spectators for concerts.

No bouts have been announced for the event thus far, but the show is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1.

The Pine Tree State produced the UFC’s second two-time heavyweight champion in Tim Sylvia, though the Maine-iac has not fought for the organization in years. Also of note, UFC and Bellator veteran Marcus Davis is also a Maine native.
