UFC 173 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a middleweight title showdown between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort.
A veteran of “TUF 15,” Sicilia has lost three of his last four fights, most recently submitting to a second-round rear-naked choke applied by Cole Miller last month at UFC Fight Night 35. Choi, meanwhile, makes his UFC debut on the strength of a nine-fight winning streak, which the 22-year-old capped with a June 15 knockout of Shoji Maruyama under Japan’s Deep banner.
Holdsworth won the 18th installment of “TUF” this past November, when he submitted cast mate Davey Grant at the show’s live finale to extend his career unbeaten streak to five fights. In Kang, Holdsworth faces the former Road FC bantamweight champion. “Mr. Perfect” began his Octagon career with a loss and a no-contest, but the 26-year-old righted his ship on Jan. 4, when he submitted Shunichi Shimizu at UFC Fight Night 34.
