DALLAS – Saturday night’s UFC 171 event drew an announced attendance of 19,324 and a live gate of $2.6 million.

UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.

UFC 171 took place at American Airlines Center in Dallas and featured a title fight for the vacant welterweight belt between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler in the pay-per-view headliner. Hendricks won the title with a trio of 48-47 scores and a unanimous decision.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is expected to verify the figures and release an official tally next week.

While the number of “comp” or free tickets was not revealed, the figures represent an average revenue of $134.55 per ticket issued.

The figures are a step up from the promotion’s first event at the venue, UFC 103, which took place in September 2009. That card, headlined by a Vitor Belfort knockout of Rich Franklin, drew 17,428 fans for a $2.4 million gate.
