NEWARK, N.J. – Although John Lineker (23-7 MMA, 4-2 UFC) showed no ill effects from a tough weight cut, he still couldn’t stave off a strong finish by fellow flyweight Ali Bagautinov (13-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) on Saturday at UFC 169.

Their bout, which was part of the event’s pay-per-view main card from Newark, N.J.’s Prudential Center, saw Bagautinov use key takedowns and some solid submission defense to avoid Lineker’s heavy hands.
