UFC 165 Update: Top-10 Lightweight Healy Meets Unbeaten Nurmagomedov on Sept. 21

World-ranked lightweight Pat Healy will return to the Octagon against hot prospect Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165, the promotion announced Sunday.

The Sept. 21 event takes place at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre and is set to be headlined by a UFC light heavyweight title bout between champion Jon Jones and challenger Alexander Gustafsson.

Healy has not tasted defeat since 2010, though the 30-year-old Strikeforce veteran saw his UFC 159 victory against Jim Miller overturned by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board after Healy tested positive for marijuana metabolites. With his 90-day suspension served, “Bam Bam” will once again go after his first UFC win, this time against one of the promotions most highly regarded up-and-comers.

Nurmagomedov, 24, could face his toughest matchup yet in Healy, but the young Russian is no stranger to stiff competition, with wins over Octagon mainstays Gleison Tibau and Thiago Tavares. “The Eagle” missed weight by 3.5 pounds in his last fight, a decision win against Abel Trujillo at UFC 160.
