RIO DE JANEIRO – MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) was on scene for today’s official fighter weigh-ins for UFC 163, where all but one competitor successfully made weight for Saturday’s card.

In the main event, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo defends his belt for the fifth time in the UFC and seventh time overall when he meets “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung. Jung was tapped for the fight when Aldo’s original opponent, Anthony Pettis, was injured in training and no longer could make the fight – he was dropping from lightweight to featherweight for the first time.

Aldo, fighting in his home country of Brazil for the second time as champion, weighed in at the title-fight maximum of 145 pounds. Jung was the same.

Saturday’s co-main event may prove to be an important one for the light heavyweight division. Former champion Lyoto Machida meets Phil Davis, and the winner will put himself in good position to stake a claim to be the next contender at 205 pounds. Machida, fighting in his home country for the first time in the UFC, was 205 pounds on the nose, as was Davis, who less than a year ago beat Wagner Prado in Brazil at UFC 153 in Rio.

Friday’s weigh-ins took place at HSBC Arena in Rio, the same venue that hosts Saturday’s card. The main card airs on pay-per-view (10 p.m. ET). Prelims air on FX (8 p.m. ET) and stream on Facebook (6:30 p.m. ET).
