Cezar-Mutante-FerreiraIt didn’t take Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira to show why he was the winner of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil and Thiago “Marreta” Santos was out early during his stint on TUF 2.

Ferreira and Santos squared off on the main card of UFC 163 at HSBC Arena on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro.

Ferreira had been out of action since winning TUF Brazil last year at UFC 147, dealing with a couple of surgeries and relocating his camp to the Blackzilians, following his mentor Vitor Belfort to Florida.

He hasn’t lost a step in all that time. If anything, he’s only improved.

Ferreira didn’t get a chance to show a lot of his game on Saturday night. He made quick work of Santos, dropping him early with a looping left hand. As Santos tried to get up, Ferreira saw the opening for an arm-in guillotine choke, which he used to finish the fight in under a minute.

“I saw he had his guard down. I saw the opportunity, so I decided to go in and finish him with the guillotine,” said Ferreira, who should now get an opportunity to try and work his way up the middleweight ladder.

A match-up of heavy hitting middleweights took place on the main card of tonight's (Sat., July 5, 2014) UFC 175: "Weidman vs. Machida" pay-per-view (PPV) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, as former Ultimate Fighter contestants Uriah Hall and Thiago Santos met in the center of the cage to exchange leather. But Hall persevered in a tremendous display of heart and went through with the bout. He earned a unanimous decision, winning read news >>
