Jose Aldo and Kenny Florian at UFC 136The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday announced that UFC 163 would take place on Aug. 3 in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.

The announcement came from UFC executive Marshall Zelaznik during the UFC on FX 8: Belfort vs. Rockhold post-fight press conference.

A featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Anthony Pettis headlines the card.

Pettis (16-2) is dropping down from the lightweight division where he was the top contender in order to face the Brazilian champion.

Welterweights Josh Koscheck and Demian Maia were also confirmed for the fight card.

Koscheck (17-7) is coming off back-to-back losses and hopes to rebound. Maia (18-4) is riding a three-fight winning streak that includes a win over Kosheck’s long-time training partner Jon Fitch in his last outing.

UFC 163 will be the fourth time Brazil will host a UFC event in 2013.
