UFC 162 start time, fight card, TV schedule, media events and video preview

It’s fight week again for the UFC, which return to Las Vegas on Saturday (July 6) for UFC 162. Here’s the essential information for fight week.

UFC 162 START TIME: UFC 162 takes place Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view main card kicks off at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT). However, FX carries four prelims at 8 p.m. ET, and two prelims kick off on Facebook and Youtube at 7 p.m. ET.

UFC 162 EVENT BACKGROUND: The UFC’s annual Fourth of July weekend event in Las Vegas is traditionally one of the biggest of the year, and as part of UFC Fight Week and a UFC Fan Expo that accompany UFC 162, this year’s will be no different. So it’s only fitting that the UFC features the greatest fighter in the promotion’s history, middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-4 MMA, 16-0 UFC), who will meet undefeated challenger Chris Weidman (9-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC). The UFC first announced the headliner back in February, and after successfully avoiding the injury bug, the title fight remains intact for Saturday.
