Mike Pierce vs. David Mitchell

Round 1: The two fighters touch gloves and UFC 162 is underway.  Pierce moves forward throwing big punches. He closes the distance and presses Mitchell against the cage.  Mitchell lands short punches to the body.  Pierce delivers an elbow on the inside.  Mitchell answers with a knee to the body.  They separate and Mitchell steps in with an uppercut. Pierce keeps the pressure on and ties Mitchell up.  Mitchell lands a right hand.  They clinch.  Pierce delivers a powerful knee to the body.  Mitchell answers with one of his own.  Mitchell is displaying solid takedown defense.  They exchange knees to the midsection inside the clinch.  They separate and Pierce lands a solid right hand counter.  The round ends.  It was a close round with Mitchell landing more but Pierce pressing the action and landing the harder shots.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Pierce.

Round 2: Pierce presses forward and lands a left hook.  He clinches and presses Mitchell against the cage.  Mitchell delivers short punches.  Pierce answers with a left hand.  They separate.  Pierce throws big shots that miss.  Mitchell tries to establish his jab.  Pierce clinches but the quickly separate.  Mitchell lands an uppercut and ties Pierce up.  He lands knees and punches to the body.  Pierce clinches again. He backs away and lands a left hook that knocks Mitchell down.  Pierce finishes with hammer fists on the ground.

The official time of the technical knockout was 2:55 of the second round.
