According to UFC President White a rematch between PRIDE FC veterans Mauricio Rua (21-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC) and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has been booked for UFC 161 which takes place at Winnipeg's MTS Centre on June 15 in Manitoba, Canada.

"Shogun" and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira previously met each other in Pride 2005 Middleweight GP Quarterfinal at Pride Critical Countdown 2005 event on 26 June 2005 in Saitama, Saitama, Japan where Rua won by unanimous decision.

However “Little Nog” has a two-fight win streak including a victory over Rashad Evans by unanimous decision at UFC 156 on 2 February 2013 in his last fight. While "Shogun" lost his last fight to Swedish prospect Alexander Gustafsson by unanimous decision at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Diaz event on December 8, 2012.
