UFC 161 Evans vs. Henderson Weigh-in Results

Dan Henderson vs. Rashad EvansThe UFC 161 line-up has gone through several changes, but now that it’s settled the fighters on the card on Friday had to face one final hurdle before stepping into the Octagon in Winnipeg on Saturday night. They had to step on the scale for the UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson official weigh-ins.

The revamped main event features former UFC champion Rashad Evans against former Pride champion Dan Henderson in a light heavyweight showdown that could determine the remaining path for each fighter’s career.

Neither Evans nor Henderson typically has trouble making weight, and neither did in Winnipeg. Evans hit the 206-pound non-title-fight limit for the weight class, while Henderson came in at 204 pounds.

There is no animosity between the two former wrestlers, just a lot of respect and anticipation in putting on a good fight for the fans.

“Dan is one of my favorite fighters, but I love the opportunity to get to fight him,” said Evans. “We’re gonna go out there and give it all we got.”

“I’ve always loved coming up to the fight events in Canada,” Henderson remarked. “So I was really excited to get the chance to fight here. Rahsad’s a tough guy; it’s gonna be a war.”

Fan favorite Roy Nelson anchors the co-main event, taking on rebounding heavyweight Stipe Miocic.

Despite calls to drop to light heavyweight, Nelson has consistently refused to do so. He weighed in Friday at 260 pounds, so it’s not difficult to understand why he is reluctant. Miocic tipped the scale at 243 pounds.

No one on the card had trouble hitting the mark.
